“Thoughtfully stocked and decorated rooms. Homey, comfortable, and clean! Stayed for a long weekend and enjoyed my nights here. Would happily stay again! Extra bonus is the stocked office with small bites, drinks, and some veg (b/c health).”

“Had a fantastic two night stay at Matterhorn Motel. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. Location is just a short walk to anything in Lake City. Best of all there are a few dog friendly rooms so we were able to bring our dog to stay with us and enjoy the hiking around Lake City. She enjoyed the treats left inside the room! Thanks for the nice stay.”

“We stayed in one of the cabins for Labor Day and absolutely loved our stay! We were able to bring our dog and the cabin even had a fenced in yard for her. It was so nice to be able to relax on the porch with our pup wondering the yard. We were also a close walk to nearby restaurants in town so we took advantage of walking around town everyday. The bed was comfortable, there were thoughtful touches throughout the cabin and it was quiet all day and night.”

“Really enjoyed my stay here for 1 night. Has the basics like mini fridge, microwave and coffee pot with some good oat milk instant creamer. Very comfortable beds slept like a log. Outdoor patio chairs were included inside if you choose to hang outside here. Didn’t have any in person interactions during check in but you just get here and you door is already unlocked for you. My only real issues I ran into is the lack of WiFi password being provided. I did call the office as no one originally answered when I knocked on the door and they got back to me in an hour via text with the WiFi pass word. My only suggestion would be to include the WiFi password on the motel info sheet inside each room otherwise a great stay”

“I can’t imagine staying anywhere else in Lake City. We walked off the Colorado trail dirty and tired and Deborah was nothing short of amazing. She took care of us like we were family. Need a pen and paper? No problem. Breakfast recommendations? Easy. We were high needs guests and she never batted an eyes. And her little store is CURATED. Everything from bottles of wine to hiking supplies to the cutest beaded jewelry to fresh local lettuce. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Lake City, stop looking. This is it.”
